Schools

Mental health within schools is a growing concern, a number of schools are commissioning services to provide support and guidance focusing on emotional and behavioural difficulties and strengthening pupil resilience. Furthermore, professionals working with children are often challenged by complex work and it can often be useful to have the support and guidance from an experienced Psychologist who is able to provide a space to explore using psychological frameworks and theories to assist them in their work with young people.

ALC Psychology Services offers therapeutic services to independent, state and residential primary and secondary schools across the North West.

We are able to provide

  • Psychological assessment of an individual’s needs, providing recommendations for intervention. This may include work with the school and/or families.
  • Therapeutic interventions for young people using evidence based psychological approaches such as person centred therapy, cognitive-behaviour therapy, narrative therapy and solution focused therapy. We are creative in our work and focus on the strengths of our clients.
  • Consultation and workshops for teachers, teaching assistants and other members of staff.
  • Supervision and reflective practice groups for teachers on an individual or group basis
